Engine:
249cc, 4cyl inline, 16 valve DOHC
Redline @ 18,000rpm
249cc, 4cyl inline, 16 valve DOHC
Redline @ 19,000rpm
Chassis/Frame:
More upright seating position, engine higher up.
Frame was different, lower seating position.
Brakes:
Single disc front and rear
Twin discs front, single disc rear

There was very little difference on paper as regards the spec but Honda did totally re-design the 250. Alot of small bits might be the same on the two bikes but alot of the fundamental bits like the frame, engine, fairings, exhaust etc.. were all changed.
