Ok so I thought I would finally get around to kicking this thread off.
I bought the bike back about 4-5 months ago and put it on the back burner as I was keen on doing some travelling. MetalTriumph and I sussed it out (as best we could) on fleabay and then purchased the bike, I must admit it was the biggest impulse buy I have ever made.
So here is the bike as it stands now.

The bike was involved in an accident where it slid tail first into a gutter thus wrecking it aesthetically and bending the rear subframe. Mechanically it seems sound (though I have not started it I am using the theory that it worked when it was crashed so why not now)
I have finally got my act together and have bought many parts for the project.
Things I have needed include: Mirrors Indicators Fairings New key New Tires Chain and sprockets seat Rear subframe Foot pegs and gear linkages. Clutch and brake levers. Battery Misc Bolts Right Clipon Wheel spacers and more as I discover them.
I have genuinely been impressed with the response of findapart.com affiliated wreckers and have not had any problems locating parts - so far.
I have run into a few problems with old parts breaking as I take them off but nothing major, I broke the throttle tube and the brake light switch for the front brakes however these were replaced at minimal cost.
Anyways here are a couple more photos of th parts and bike.

Will update as I progress. Quite motivated now so should have this up and running in the next month or so. (just in time for winter yay)

The tyga kit comes with a different under tray but fits on the stock sub frame with minor modifications

Black is just so meh. Everytime i see a black Tyga its such a waste. Please consider yellow/orange/white/gunmetal grey. Evert tyga you see is black they just look

it all cost me about 1100 all up. I had to buy fairings anyway and the kit was on special so I figured why not. I am trying to work out a paint scheme at the moment, I dont want to pay to change the colour of the wheels but I'm thinking it will be the only way to make it look really sweet.
Was thiking orange if I change the wheels
red grey and black if i dont. |

I saw one that had the whole B2 stealthbomber paintjob. Honestly, black is sheer yawnage.
I lookeda t your list of stuff and quietly wondered - would it have been cheaper just to purchase a bike whole
Cheaper, yes... more fun, no.

I was talking about the frame being black as well as the subframe/swingarm.
Not sure on the fairing colours. i though you were talking about the subframe painting black, not the fairings.

Actually with all parts and the bike it has cost me 3.5k so far.
So its pretty good value really.
Everything is cheap for these bikes cause they are so common, plus with the help of studrichos fairing bolts and carbie kit I have made savings where I can.
I suppose to put it into perspective, for 4.5k I will have a fully overhauled bike in the exact aesthetic style I want. It is going to look almost brand new by the time I'm done. |
